The Potter house plays a key role in Georgia’s Folly. When I made my site visit to Gettysburg one of my first stops was to find a house where Georgia might have lived. When I saw this red brick house with gingerbread trim I knew it was perfect. When I saw it was now a Bed and Breakfast, I checked out of my hotel and moved into “Georgia’s house”.

My room was exactly how I imagined Georgia’s bedroom. There was a table carved walnut headboard, a red velvet bedspread and a marble topped dresser. There even was a ‘Gone With the Wind’ lamp on the bedside table. I stayed up very late taking in the atmosphere.

In the morning at breakfast, other guests were talking about their late night ghost hunt in the Gettysburg streets. Turns out that Gettysburg has the second highest paranormal activity in the United States. The city with the highest number? If you guessed New Orleans you are correct.

Before I checked out, I walked around the side of the house to see the bullet holes in the bricks. They are a permanent reminder of the battle that raged in the streets of Gettysburg.
